was wondering for those who play the Alpha, if there is some controller configuration to be able to play controller/mouse.

Try using a venom x, I got something cool with a connection to try it out for the PS4 but heard it works on the computer also. Im more interested in the button mapping, also i have a mac, i read the forums a bit but macs having troubke or some **** with controller

IF you've looked it up then yeah it has remapping. And don't worry, I have a Mac too. Same boat, not sure on the software though if it's apple friendly. I'll find that out tomorrow.
