If you had to define camping v defence in VCTF... would you do it like this?
Camp = sitting in a corner waiting for somebody to run past then shoot him in his face or his back.

This thread was already made i think, i think it was called camping in VCTF. Either way one person, maybe two depending on the amount of people playing ,watching the flag while running around collecting more ammo is defending. Camping is when the team is up a point and the team just hangs around the base and stops doing offensive attacks. Creating for a long boring game which is what killed this game flagv modes wise in my opinion. I dont consider aqua, pin, tw, deep_silense aka papa, chisox, seifer, or any players that fit in that catagory campers. they are just doing what the do for their team, defending. if that means standing still after they got everything they need then thats what you have to do to defend. the second you run off you leave your flag open and giving the other team a free shot at a quick score. -------------  aka - priebe69, DEEP_BrokeBack, GOW_AftaBirth |

My logic of Camping in VCTF is when someone has a Tank/Hellbender Parked on the Flag (Any Vehicle really...) or Spamming Shock Combo's/Rockets on the flag (Necro & SandStorm)

I wouldn't even say that there are defenders/campers in vCTF because it's usually just some scrub who is in a vehicle guarding the flag or something, which I call being a scrubby little bi*ch. |

I camp the nemesis on sandstorm when I know the other team is gonna do fury pick ups, but that's defending against the fury imo. Neither would I... aqua, pin and the rest there are defenders by trade. I'm talking about when you play against a team that is far stronger, they're going to win easy but instead they get 1-0 and just constantly stay in their base and kill you as you try and take their flag. All those players mentioned would want their teams to win 3-0, rather than a boring 20 minute game that ends 1-0. Mainly it's the gimpy little kids that pull this sh1t. | it can also be based on the amount of people aswell.. i think that if most of the team is midfield/attacking.. then if you choose to stay back.. thats defending.. but if theres already enough people back defending yet you choose to also stay back and not go offensive.. i would say thats camping.. also when im defending i move around the whole our base/our half of midfield... i would class people that are standing in the flag room staring at our flag to be camping... |

A much stronger team should be able to at least defend from midfield? I'm more inclined to be a defensive midfielder but I'd never sit on a flag for 20 mins just to piss someone off, I might say I will during the intervals but I love respawning too much. Warfare is the only mode that really forces you not to camp... also requires great team work. | also when someone is defendnig and moving around our base as i said.... then they see an enemy entering/about to enter their flag room so then that person backtracks to the flag room to kill the enemy as they grab the flag... is defending but is usually mistaken for camping by the enemy... i think its stupid whenever i choose to defend and i do that.. sometimes i get messages saying im camping when i was only in the flagroom for a few seconds lol |

| i know dan.. it depends on the map reallly.. for example necro.. the bases is small.. and most people who are staying back are usually at either side of the flag just waiting to combo someone.. but in kargo for example... when checking the emp area.. or across to the other side side etc.. never stayinjg in the flagroom... i dnt count that as camping... i just think the main difference between camping and defending is camping is usually just staying stil staring the the flag waiting for someone.... and defending is checknig all entrances to the base trying to find someone. |

If people get frustrated about someone standing across the map with hit scan then kill them before you make a flag run. If someone can't kill a camper, then what does that say about their skill? Not much lol.... I understand people hate slayers in VCTF rooms because all "we" do is kill rather than try to run flags. That is probably why you see a lot of defense.. However, there are ways to enjoy that mode still. Also, when I talk about a lot of defense, I am mainly talking about Necropolis and Suspense. Those two maps are TDM friendly.

Suspense? He does play like a douche on that map but I'm not bothered about it, I was refering more to the Necro match where they got 1-0 with a far stronger team and 4 of them spammed the flag with flak and shock combos.

Ha ha ha, blame skillahman;-) Im in the same boat as you Pin, but that aint camping. We kill players in the role we have on the team. Its like this: Dragov cap a flag on suspense after 2 mins. I was on the same team, watching from above. After he scored he takes the goliath up past the flag house and roll it bck and forth between keg/flaghouse... THAT is camping. Other players do the same. ME! I got acused for camping inside the raptor! In their base!! Im dead after 1-2 avrils, so get to the f... avriltower then.. Its all about how we (the ones that know what to do) want the game to be! I left yesterday, on the same reason Danjel is writing about. -------------

I got my Trittons because they are 5.1 dobly digital surround sound which is great for gaming and FILMS alike plus I don't wake everyone up coz im not makiing any noise. and they were not £300 they were £150. -------------

I almost like the old Warfare more than CTF.....when every single player was known and there were multiple overtimes.... My most intense clan matches were always CTF or Warfare TDM was usually a blowout vCTF needs no explanation of garbness ------------- |

lol I know this Pin, I've been playing warfare since the start. Nothing beats the old warfare, don't know if you considered old warfare when we had the tRi vs tWc matches every week. Even though you kicked our butts every time, no joke, was fun regardless of course. Just never saw you in pug matches, on the GOW servers.. unless my memory is shot.

1 camping is staying in one place for one purpose only, either to rack up kills, hog vehicles or to protect the flag. Most of the time campers harm the gameplay but sometimes it benefits the team. Defending means protecting an area NOT a spot and NOT being static. Sometimes in matches you may well have to do so if the team is vulnerable from enemy attacks or they are too strong to play openly. But doing so for a whole match is boring, people will do anything for a win it seems! I agree that the best games ebb and flow but How do you get both teams on the same page and attack the flag? 2 the best mode in ut3 is the one you prefer, forget the bs about THE best mode! Maybe you like all of UT or more than just one mode but your opinions are not facts! 3 you are only qualified to question how much you spend and what you purchase just as you choose to buy and choose to dedicate x amount of time for a particular game. Greed is cool and all, but Betrayal's better with people. Unlike bots, people aren't as predictable and might let the pot go higher or lower than what you're intending and just because you agree on a pot doesn't mean they'll stick to it. I was actually pretty bad with that. I'd usually undercut it 3, 5, possibly 10 points below the mark. (i.e. If we were going to 25 or 50, I'd stab them in the back at 15 or 37.) Betrayal always had that tension in the air, because all alliances were only temporary, unlike other modes where you're either a teammate or you're not. |

This is subjective, skewed and just plain wrong. Even though UT3 hasn't graced my PS3 in at least a year, I can still think of countless Fury and Tank drivers who could ditch the vehicle and cap flag after flag. ChrisC and Cbizzy are the best fury pilots i know... and cbizzy is damn good at cappin flags and ChrisC is imo the best flag runner to touch this game VCTF wise. I myself flag run and like to ho the tank.

Yep - Chris_C is amazing in the fury and Arkos... I'm sure I saw Aqua score a flag in his wheelchair once too ;) Good at the game = should be able to run flags and not defend right by your flag. | The first VCTF match I played in awhile was actually not so campy. I had no other modes to join, so I joined that match. My team somehow managed to get the flag mid-field and I think save it once, allowing me to airlift that guy out and score, forcing overtime. We ended up winnning after ten or so minutes. I think that was the best teamwork move I've done in ages, in any game. |

we all have to deal with ping, us or eu there is allways lag, if someone beat or get beated sure blame lag. but what's up with theyr¨ terrible how so sup-mate is my younger sister. new in game and lot's of talent- smart and dedicated and now here is some mexican douche and qm cheerleader to back him up.. christ sake give respect to those who deserve it. lag or not dying in vctf is part of the game. -------------

Hahaha Jorge, Tripox is good mate! He is F uK... one of the best flag runners in VCTF.
Carnage just camps, not much skill and in a clan match he would lose quickly.
You always make me laugh though :) Sup-mate is pretty good though :D

Chris is great in the fury, BUT he's not a fury ho... he play'd on foot and other vehicles as much as the fury... Cbizzy isn't a fury ho either because he's on foot most of the time, so those are terrible examples Seph lol When were you a tank ho DoD? Must have been before i got on ps3, because you were in walker or sniping when i play'd lol I'm talking about people that wait at the tank respawn instead of playing on foot until it respawns... people that eat lunch in the tank... people that 99% of their kills are in the tank... people that can't even give a vage description the other base lol Thats a tank ho :) Ima try to get Seif and TX to play a few games of vctf Tommorow around 7 or 8 eastern time if anyone is on... havn't put my ut3 disc in in months so i don't know if its totally dead or not? ------------- sHoCkD_Yo_aSs is a novice bot |

DoD use to have a sleeping bag in a tank lol. But those are just two examples cuz i consider them the best players and to be the best in a fury you have to "ho" it. to me, waiting in tank near to flag goes defending category.. there is no such thing as camping. if i know there is ppl ud damage and full healt plus boots will do the trick if not 5 of them goes down with me, but snipers seriously piss me off -------------
