This will be one of the best shooters ever made, If I didnt have an Xbox I would buy one just for this game coz it will be amazing -------------

If you guys had an xbox you wouldnt say that, this game carries the spirit of unreal in the way it looks and it just and EPIC trademark but I understand what your saying coz I would ditch all other games for a new unreal. its abit of a shame it not on ps3 coz it would be massive but I know the whole fanboy situation and people will think killzone is better coz they only have a ps3 but Im neutral coz I love both consoles and play on them both alot and believe that gears of war is way better than any ps3 exclusive simply coz know developer can make games like EPIC GAMES
Im not saying you guys are fanboys at all, just saying that Im sure you would love this if you had an xbox :) -------------

^^^Yes, Gears positively screams Unreal in the way that it LOOKs (not how it plays)....

OMG the multiplayer beta came out today and I have pretty much been glued to the tv all day, one of the best shooters ever made easily and its only the mutiplayer beta :)

The most satisfying kill so far is charging an enemy with the retro lancer and hoisting his body up in the air! Also, love the nod to UT3 with the sandstorm that comes around on the Tunnels map. I'm blown away by the graphics and love all the maps....too bad they couldn't give us a sneak peak at the new Horde!I haven't had lag ONCE while playing - whatever they did with the multiplayer server situation seems to be working.... ------------- Do you realize that in about forty years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tatoos and pierced navels? Completely agree, the graphics are so polished and i love the gameplay but it still feels abit like gears 2, I think im level 17 so ive been playin it quite alot -------------

After taking a look at the Beta forum on Epic's website, there are a few things I was unaware of that I thought were pretty cool:
1. If you see someone playing with silver skins on their weapons, it means they WORK for Epic.
2. There is going to be a "surprise event weekend" at some point during the beta testing period (which lasts till May 15th). That's all they say so keep your eyes peeled.
There were two things having to do with gameplay that are new that I was also unaware of:
Trading Weapons and Sharing Ammo: When you are close to a teammate you can aim at them (left trigger) and then press the X button to trade weapons or press the Y button to share ammo. Pressing B allows you to accept the weapon trade from another player. Sharing ammo is a great way to keep your leader fully stocked during a long round of Capture the Leader.
And:
Bag and Tag: While holding a meatbag, press up on the D-Pad. If you have a grenade in your inventory, you will stick it to the meatbag and kick him towards your enemy. If you do not have a grenade in your inventory then you will steal whatever your victim was carrying.

| Once they deal with the retro lancers rediculous advantage short to medium range and the sawed offs guaranteed one shot kill even when not looking at the individual but your within 10 ft of them(was tested by numerous ppl) the game will be balanced and almost near perfect. i love the beta so far despite all he trash players abusing retro lancers. Also, be aware that even when you shoot at a guy using retro run or a guy just holding b down to use their chainsaw, that if you shoot at them it will not slow them down until they patch this for final game. Overall, I was not a fan of gears 2 but gears 3 is very addicting. |

I always thought of buying the xbox but the the thought of paying to be online turned me off until yesterday .I broke down after seeing no sign of the ps3 coming back soon and bought the xbox 250 gb and Halo Reach . I will buy Gears of War 3 for sure and resistance 3 for the ps3 . Some of the new stuff:
The team earns money (in addition to points) for every kill and for completing bonus objectives that pop up during a wave. Reviving team-mates will also earn you money.
With the money the team earns you can buy weapons and defensive fortifications such as barriers, decoys, turrets, etc.
Between waves:
-Repair and upgrade your fortifications.
-buy extra ammo and more powerful weapons
-Every tenth wave is a Boss level.
-Once a wave you may also purchase a "revive" if you get killed
and much, much more.
