me, i play ut99, but not online anymore, just offline.

hoooooo, ut99 long time that i not play ut99 fu.ck, my lap can run with a good grafics, but not the UT99 becouse it crash with the ligths of the game lol WTF

a few of us have been wanting to get a group going on ut99 for ****s and giggles (me wopr and incremental have talked about it )..well excluding incremental now no one ever talks to him anymore -------------

I haven't played UT99 in about a month. Quake Live??? I played that last week.
BTW... any idea why they got rid of 6 rockets at once and reduced that to 3?

IMO ut's gameplay is definetly inferior.. ut has never matched quake as far as gameplay.. or tournies.. or popularity.. or really anything.. the only thing ut has over quake is the shock combo.. but that isnt enough to overcome the fact that the rest of the weapons in quake blow away the ut weapon selection.
plus air movement is key.. the movement in quake is so much more free and it allows for more skill imo. and also weapon comboing is something that is much less of a factor in UT -------------

yep, painkiller definetly was alot of fun, i loved that mod where u had to kill people in mid air. i was a beast at that game but it never really took off on PC.. and i also agree about Q4
really both of those games are 2 of my top 5 -------------

| What are the specs for Quake live to be running smooth and crisp?? I have an older desktop and my laptop does not really have a graphics card. My desktop is a 3.0ghz hyper thread single core, with a pretty good graphics card (ATI XT600 I believe). If I can play this without huge amounts of graphic detail loss, and not have a problem with the processor speed, I am down. I use to play Quake way back; Quake 2. I was insane with the grenade launcher and rail gun. |

Oh and I don't know what you are referring to Groinshot about the only being able to fire 3 instead of 6 rockets. It might have been a custom mod or something, as I have not experienced that at all. I wish they would make a weapons mod for that for UT3 so you could fire 6 of everything instead of 3. That would completely change all the games modes with the damage capabilities! Especially vehicle based games! UT 99 deserves some love though even with it being 10 years old. It still takes a lot of skill to be able to frag like some of the best UT players. |

newbe, your computer should run it fine.. its basically a 10 yr old game.. but yea it probably doesnt run as easy as quake3, I run it at 125fps at all times and to me thats the only way to play..
as far as quake 2.. i never really got into it i was still playing quake 1 but the clan im in for quakelive are all quake 2 vets -------------
