Heroes of Newerth or HoN for short is a multiplayer strategy game for PC that mixes RTS and RPG elements. The game is based off of DotA where you control a hero of your choice in a 5v5 contest to destroy eachothers base. The game is VERY strategy and teamwork intensive and has a pretty steep learning curve. Easily the most fun multiplayer game i have played in quite a while. It is currently in a closed beta, however i can get extra beta keys if anyone is interested. trendy.. i played the beta of a game that was based off of DotA also.. called league of legends.. have you tried that out? it was decent but i grew tired of it pretty quick.. you had to work as a team in that game though or it was pointless -------------

| League of Legends is trash compared to this game. HoN is far more polished and smooth gameplay with entirely dedicated servers and a huge community. You are dead on about the teamwork though, its the core of the gameplay. Vent helps quite a bit though and its incredibly fun to play with friends. |

Crow thats hilarious, seen it before but damn thats funny. Deadaim, pm if you want a beta key, i actually have quite a few accounts that i can spare anyway. My friends and I are always looking for more players, just let me know when you can play and i can hook you up with the vent info so i can teach you the ropes. |

I remember playing DOTA on Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos. Who would have that user created content would actually become a real game in itself. -------------

hey trendy.. was fun playing last night i really never got to into kinda half in a daze the whole time.. pretty much plays just like league of legends.. ill practice up a bit see if i can find a character that works well with my style -------------

| sounds good man, the game is infinitely more enjoyable once you get the hang of the characters and learn how the items work. there are quite a few guides for every hero on the beta site as well that you could look into once you find a character that you like. |

cool.. ill have to check it out.. some of the characters seemed real familiar.. like the witch hunter was in LoL also.. and that character you were talking about with the invulnerability special.. that chracter was also.. pretty cheap way to take out a tower with that special.
oh and i heard your buddy say the game is much harder then quakelive :)
now we know thats not true ;) -------------

| haha he was joking, he is awful at FPS so whatever makes him feel better. Im just kinda taking a break from shooters for now, after 15+ years of nearly exclusive FPS its starting to get old. |

yea i know he was joking :) i hear ya tho.. i try to play all diffrent kinds of games to keep it fresh, ive spent plenty of time with pc style rpgs and rts games.. and i play every kind of console game.. from crash bandicoot to ut3.. i like that i dont always have to be playing something competetive to have fun gaming.. although in the case of HoN.. its definetly a very competetive game -------------
