Learn defence first, second is how to "know" where the flagcarrier is going. And for me, most important! I play the game like a chopper sim. or a tank sim. U get the idea.. Maybe thats why i play just vCTF!?
It's basically a mindgame anyway.

Altitude is a big one, like supra said. There are some maps that I can see almost everything with the right combination of altitude and scope (sniper).

i agree, but my point on altitude was more on the lines of, being a few feet above some one, like the node house on DT, or on top of the mountain on Avalanche as opposed to be below them looking up!

thats great advice, most people dont use that to their advantage, thats why, god forbid i have to get the tank or the DW, i always choose tank, for the purpose of splash damage, as soon as i get the tank on avalanche, i shoot into the surrounding area of the center node, a few good shots into there will bring the node down, and if the orb carrier is their defending they need to watch their step! ;)
