Here we go. I have a PS3 in my bedroom, and a TV in another room. Needless to say, I have controller input lag. Would getting a long usb cable make the controller run as a wired function or would it still run bluetooth? Thanks in advance.

The controller input signal is always (as far as i know, correct me) bluetooth.

But it might work with a long USB cable.
I only know that it recharges with a USB cable.
Not sure that the cable will act as a connecting parent in this situation.

Try Google? Perhaps someone had similiar issues?

buy a 3rd party wired controller maybe.  tho i cant imagine that you would have imput lag for what reason....blue tooth is a sync between 2 devices and share a  1on1 relation, that wouldnt have anything to do with input lag, most tv remotes are infrered and blue tooth doesnt run like wifi so why are you having input lag?  other wise they would lag when you play 2 player games and have 2 controllers side by side...Geek

Thanks for the replies.  Im setting in a different room.  When i have the controller in my lap, it has about 1 1/2 second delay (which is bad for Battlefield 3) but when I put the controller above my head (in clearer line of sight of the ps3) I have no input lag.  Guess I'm going to go get a 25ft USB cable and see.

Can't you just put the ps3 in the same room as the tv?

Ah ha. When I run my PS Head/phone/set in conjunction with my DualShock 3 in a different room, I get latency. Not sure why since one uses Bluetooth and the other does not. Thanks though.

Perhaps the signal is conflicting? Bluetooth is known to give that.
There is always one signal stronger. Just a little bit stronger signal could outbalance that.

they dont tho, they are a establish connection between a 2 devices, if that was the case then when you play 2 player games your controllers would conflict with each other.

I know it sounds weird, but completely fine just with the controller, but as soon as I turn on the PS 7.1 surround sound headseat, my controller goes to ****.  Well, I bought a 32" TV that sits in my 'hallway' before going down the steps to the living room.  My Girlfriend works 1st shift and I work 3rd, so 'bout the time I get to start playing some games, shes going to sleep.  However I realized I have about 30 ft of ethernet cable, so I just run it out of my room, and it's game time...and screaming time over the mic.
