Not sure if this is accurate but if the next gen consoles are introduced at E3 this year, Perhaps they'll be ready for 2013 X-Mas.
and a new UT in 2014? Also interesting that an EPIC guy is quoted in the article. |

One would think, if this news is untrue, Sony and Microsoft would say SOMETHING....like the article said it has to be impacting sales of both consoles.
But, if true, then we are that much closer to a follow-up to UT3!

if the XBOX 720 releases this Xmas then Sony doesn't really have a choice. They'll have to release the PS4 or lose out completely.

Xbox will not have a new console out this year or next i would think/hope
They are doing a good job updating the 360, and just recently with the latest update, made it ito a complete media hub It would be hurting there own company to make something new and have it out in such a short amount of time, and not to mention have plenty of customers pissed once they stop supporting the older product. (like when 360 killed XBL for the original xbox) i assume the next Gen stuff for microsoft and Sony to be out Early 2014 or holiday 2014, but who knows |

I would agree with you on this. The firmware and software upgrades for both consoles has been descent. You can also expand memory or back up online for greater capacity. The article itself guesses that whatever is in the works will be touchscreen/tablet like. This suggests to me something that's more mobile in nature and not a TRUE CONSOLE. There really is no next big thing either. At least not YET. High Def was the driver for Ps3/360. Maybe 3D?? but that's not ready for Prime Time IMO.

Looks like you guys were right:
CNN reported, yesterday, that Sony has said they will NOT be making any kind of announcement about the PS4 AND that the PS3 still has a few more years to go before they replace it.
If Epic was holding out for the next generation of consoles before making another UT3, then this is bad news for us

If Microsoft has the choice of keeping the 360 going for another couple of years or crushing Sony do you really think that they would hold off on the release of the 720? Total domination of the consloe gaming market would make them so much more money than a few additional years of the 360.

Would make less sense to rush out something that the PS4 could be far better than. I also doubt a new Xbox would dominate the market. It would have to compete with the 360 and the PS3.

Nintendo need to move into the HD market, the reason the Wii is rotting under my bed is because It looks like horrible on my big HDTV. Zelda would be epic in HD. |

well Nintendo seem to disagree with you penguin seen as the Wii-U will support HD. but yeah I agree you dont need HD to enjoy nintendo classics but for future games I think HD is needed to enjoy them unless your a casual gamer that likes playin family games with kids and all that stuff.

Nintendo does not need HD, but it obviously would not hurt.
i think the whole motion control thing was a huge gimmick and this Wii-U Console/Handheld thing is really stupid and a failed attempt to invent something "new" just my thoughts |

While I agree that the Wii U is kinda lame (and too little too late) I can't deny Nintendo's success with the Wii and the DS. So who knows it could workout for them.

The boomerang was a ploy by Sony to alter the design of a controller to negate any legal recourse from a certain third party developer. The Wii-U is the same as any other controller, only they added a big interactive screen so you feel like you are holding the most advanced Nintendo DS ever created. What do they have in common? Technology is not changing as fast as it should -_-
