So i feel there has been a lack of innovation for new and dif style games. Its seems that a lot that comes out now is just then next of a series. Now this is not all games im talking about but in general tho. I dont know who to blame in this one.

Is it the gamers who i think have stalled in their want to try something new. I see so many times when something new does come out we just say "this game sucks. its nothing like (insert game name)." Well no f***ing duh its not suppose to be or it would be the same damn game. Or when it first comes out its has a couple problems that are easily fixed in a couple patches, but people give up so quickly and never give it a chance. The makers are trying something dif of course there will be problems at first, and dont get me wrong i understand the fact that you just spent $60 and dont want to have to wait for **** to be fixed. But come on at least their trying to move the game industry forward. So cut them a little slack. I also love when people post "this game sucks" and thats it. Well ok this games sucks to you... Y? Give your opinion. Tell the makers what they need to do for you to make it better. You just saying it sucks doesnt help anybody. And my personal favorite, people judging a game after playing it less then an hour or even 2 hours. The makers didnt make the game to be fully experienced in 2 hours. So theres no way you fully experienced the game.

As for the makers this is an easy one. Its all about money. Y take the risk when gamers seem to be happy with what they got already. So my rant isn't no were near as long for makers cause its really all about money. But all they would have to do is really listen to what the gamers want and that risk will pay off ten times. Then again that goes back to gamers have to say what they want. Its a stupid cycle were stuck in.

Anyway this is just to get some convo started and i dont mean these thing apply to every game, every gamer, or maker. There just general statements. I must say tho thats one reason i like this forum, most people on here do say y they dislike a game and how it could be better. Even tho half the time that just leads to a childish argument with someone else, but at least we were on the right track at first ha.

Well I think both are at fault. As for gamers, including myself, we compare games too much. Even on the forums here we say this particular game sucks, because this game rules and I'm quick to compare other FPS to games like UT3, so some of us are afraid to try something new... and try it longer than a demo. Plus a lot of gamers are sheep.. if anything is marked with Call of Duty, it's automatically better than the rest, I'm just saying at as an example.

Yet some developers lack creativity and I see a lot of similarities between games, I don't know if they are trying to just copy and hopefully be the next huge franchise or too afraid of creating a stink bomb because some gamers don't like to try new things.. notice the circle there. That's just my thoughts on this.

Although I voted gamers b/c they drive the market, think of all the games not as a pyramid with the few good at the top and many bad at a the bottom, but rather think of all the games as a horizontally segmented plane with no title inherently better than another. Each persons unique values, experiences and likes then ranks these titles that by their very nature are neither better nor worse than another.

in a market based system like we have in the free world 90% of the blame is on the consumer. don't like it? then don't buy it. as for it being all about money with the game makers, well maybe the company owners. most of the actual people who make the games are employees. they have to do what their employer says. and if that means make the game  more like COD then that's what they have to do.

i think the developers should be blamed, i mean if u look at games like the unreal series as well as quake n other similar games which have gone off the beaten track by being innovative, they've still done very well....it shows that if u put the right product out there, people WILL buy it and if uv created something truly special they'll stick with it. todays cookie cutter shooter & sports games merely benefit from an excess of advertising...which obviously means a great deal....developers just wont give the same support to a product thats different n unsure so when it doesn't do as well due to lack of $$$ they feel their reasons justified where theyre to blame. of course they'll rerelease games like madden & cod each year, with minor changes because they know we'll buy it with all the AD hype & fan base...people don't care much 4 change
