Has anyone been buying any of these?

I'm buying Vagrant story today which I've never played before so I'm looking forward to that, has anyone here played it?

I also can't wait for FF8, which I know is already out on the US store, but gets to the UK in January.

Yea, i had the original copy of 8.  I sold to a friend of mine for 10 bucks.  Turned around and bought 8 again and have logged about 15 hours on the psp.  And also have it on the ps3 too.

FF8 disks don't work on PAL PS3's unfortunately, so my disk are pointless (I think I heard the German version works though) which is why I can't wait for the PSN release. Finally a chance to play it again.

Forgive my noobness, but what does PAL mean?

I can't really explain it that well, but I think PAL is just a video format that all of our (UK, most of Europe and a large portion of the rest of the world) games/movies run on, while US games (and some of South America) use NTSC. There's one called SECAM which Russia uses but thats all I know. The difference is in the fps, where yours runs at 30fps (sped up from the 24fps it's recorded at) and PAL is 25fps. The reason is something to do with our different power supplies, we use a higher voltage or something (perhaps the other way). But it resulted in everything being a different format here to the US, hence why PS1/2 games didn't work and all the business of region free and region locked. Don't ask me what the PS3 does to make the PS3 games region free, but the PS1 and 2 games are still locked (I assume something to do with the data on the disks). That's also why US had different backwards compatibility lists to the EU.

So what I meant by PAL PS3's are PS3's in the UK, most of the EU, some of Africa and Australasia, which are unable to run the PAL version of FF8, and the NTSC version won't work as it's region locked.

Hopefully that's helpful, even if it is badly written.
