Envy if you really wanted to make a point to me, you could mention that Texas is 7-0-1 all time versus Bama...just thought I'd help you out....I'll still take all the championships, bowls, and being one of the top 2 or 3 programs of all time.... Alabama is what put southern football on the map when they went to the 1926 Rose Bowl and UPSET highly touted Washington 20-19.  That was the turning point for southern football.

As of right now, it does. On the other hand, a loss early in the season could work out for OU if all of the other top 10 teams take a loss at some point. OU could battle back into the picture.
