i took about a 4 or 5 month break from games and just recently starting playing again...'I'm stoned and not playing ut3 what is wrong with this picture' this is causing a serious problem for me i am extremely bored psn is dumb azz's and im sick of playing street hockey i want to kill sheeet-_-

every1 should take a step back n realise new things in life. i heard the there is NO PSN UNTIL TUESDAY 26TH APRIL AT THE EARLIEST. so i am forgetting the ps3 until then, otherwise playin offline would depress the whole situation. lol i forgot how much i love hitting the gym etc.

So my thoughts jus sit back, chill n discover new things etc

Correct Matt. Sony have always protected their business against piracy. DRM technology oversees everything they do with media files, discs and players - one of the reasons u have Blu-ray is because it offered more protection against copyright than HD-DVD which allowed for the sale of discs across regions of the globe. Hence the backing from the other major media players. 
  • Sony shipped PS3s with Blu-ray players at a lower cost than it wanted to to strengthen its hand. 
  • It gave is a free network instead of a paid for one like Xbox live. 
  • It gave you a free wireless connection instead of a dongle that has to be purchased as an extra with 360.
  • its now pushing 3D gaming support thru PS3 and HD-TV in a big way - Shadow of Colossus, Unchartered 3, KZ3, Motorstorm, Wipeout, Enslaved etc. Microsoft is quiet although Xbox has a couple of 3D titles
In short they learned from BETAMAX that being technologically superior isnt enough for your product to become No1 in the marketplace. You have to be the most attractive to consumers. Yes better AND cheaper! We're not simply talking games consoles here were talking networked media centres. Eventually we'll be paying for PSN, if not the free PSN will not be worth bothering with because the paid service will be the most desirable by far. It certainly wont be the death of PSN maybe the rebirth lol. Anyway they'll take their time to come up with a solution rather than rush one out because its in their interest - Expect a (huge) update and if unless you subscribe no doubt you'll get a refund. How many of us here actually are subscribers, they are the ones with the real beef but bet u can count ALL on one hand and still have a few fingers to spare!

the main reason why psn has been taking so long to finish its maintencnance is because sony were working on an update to change their system that strengthened their infastructre,,, if this helps blocking these attacks in the future then i guess al this time waiting was worth it

nothing was done to the hackers apart from geohot most probably sony dont know who the hackers doing this are..... being caled anonymous n all lol... also its not rip mps3.... u do know psn isnt out forever lol
