Pause for future measures of service May 1, 2011

"PlayStation Network" and the failure continues, I am sorry indeed.

Today, from Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., "PlayStation Network" we have a presentation on current and future support for unauthorized access.
We are committed to improving the capacity and ongoing security management, "PlayStation Network" progressively restart services on a regional basis. The trouble, as we offer special services and appreciation of the user apologize to everybody Sorry for worry.

We apologize for the inconvenience to everyone, but inconvenience, humbly thank you for your understanding.

Schedule service restart

Phased out according to the schedule below for each region "PlayStation Network" service will resume.
For specific dates, we will guide you turn at this site.

  1. Guide update (today)
  2. Enable password change "PlayStation 3" System Software Update ver.3.61 (soon)
    * At this point, "PlayStation Network" is not yet available.
  3. "PlayStation Network" restart some services (soon)
    Liable for the service will be resumed ※ " will resume soon "PlayStation Network" service / feature "please see.
    Getting signed - will need to change your password.
    - Change the password by performing the procedure, "PlayStation Network" are some of the services can use.

Correct. It says a phased return of PSN and no doubt Sony will get US and Japan rolling first as its their primary market. I would say UK shold be first as we have the highest % of console gamers in EU - but I can wait I guess lol. I read the update on UK.PS link at the bottom but im a little concerned they dont make it easy to understand, like asking a politician to speak straight.
"In addition, PS3 will have a forced system software update that will require all registered PlayStation Network users to change their account passwords before being able to sign into the service. As an added layer of security, that password can only be changed on the same PS3 in which that account was activated, or through validated email confirmation, a critical step to help further protect customer data."
I think this will be a major headache for many! Who actually remembers the details to the master account - I certainly don't. And the use of the terms customers and registered customers in a favourable way - free DL, free online service but they make a distinction. Maybe its the difference between someone with an acct and someone with acct + credit details but they are both registered on PSN aren't they? Confused Hope they get it right and not try to con us.


BTW I also heard something about the hack was worse than they originally anticipated so when they say May and soon they may as well say possibly or perhaps too!

I'm hoping when it does come back more ppl will play UT3 again. It seems a little like this downtime makes ppl want to play it again, I'll be there. :)

North/East Asia - Tuesday May 3rd (22.00)
...Europe - Wednesday May 4th (22.00)
USA - Thursday May 5th (08.00)
AUS - Thursday May 5th (14.00)

These dates have been advised by Specialists to get the network online and running smoothly. Again we would like to thank you for your amazing patience and hope you enjoy and utilise PS PLUS for the free 30 days. Happy gaming!
