I have found it! The way to survive 40 waves of pure zombie madness to get the trophy "Alive and Planting" Below is what I used to get it!

Most of the plants you have to buy from Crazy Daves, Gloom-Shroom, Cat-Tail and Winter Melon.

What I really recommend is buying the Imitator, which allows you to have 2 of the same item on your top plant menu, (You can see I have two Jalapenos on the pic)  this will help you out in the later waves when you meet with the giant zombies, instead of always waiting for 1 Cherry Bomb or 1 Jalapeno, you can have another one waiting for you ready to go.

After I built up my defense I pretty much kept all of my items the same, such as the Ice-Shroom.. this helps out immensely with slowing everything down for more hits and also the Pumpkin which you will need to replace from time to time so keep an eye on those when you get into 20+ flags.

The Digger Zombie was never an issue! Never did it once take out any of my plants, the Gloom-Shroom is pretty hardcore so I was surprised that 2 of them near the front of the house took out the Diggers before they could take 2 bites of my pumpkin.

Throughout the waves to 40, with this lineup of plants I only had to replace around 6 plants, I spent most of the time grabbing money and suns and using the Cherry Bombs and other fun things, so it's a good money maker! Let me know if you guys have any problems.. starting up was the hardest part but once you get everything up, you can relax and watch the mayhem!

i found for the PC that the best is to have the corn cob cannons.  6 of them to be precise.  and just keep rotating the til they recharge.
If Gravity is a "P" and the Sun is an "H", it makes a FFFFFFF.

See thats what I thought too but you have to pay attention to everything if you do that, plus its easier to navigate with a mouse than a controller so that might work with a PC. I noticed that there was a lot of lag when I was in the middle of a horde and I couldn't tell where my cursor was a lot of times, I don't know if any of you guys noticed any of that? Don't know if thats my PS3 or just the game.
