I need some work ;)

I've still had no luck finding a job so I need to give myself some technical work to keep my head in the game.  I'm creating some other random Network/IT work for myself but I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to diversify and do some web stuff here as well.  So I'm just looking for some feedback on what my project here ought to be.  I had 2 main things on my list before I was pulled away....

1) Designing a new main page that was more functional and informative...so instead of an image with some links there would be maybe some gaming news feeds...featured gaming video...featured clan...or whatever else you/I think we might want on there.

2) Hosting UT3 custom content (maps, mutators, etc) downloads.  So that you or anyone could come here on your PC or your PS3 and download a map directly from iamgaming.  A few months ago I had a beta version of my code up and running but I needed to fix a few security related things before I could release it...then it would be a matter of collecting and uploading maps.

If you guys have other things that are reasonable side projects for the site that you think would be a better use of my time please post and let me know.

I like that feature option, where you could highlight a team or player, preferably on the ladders (as some kind of incentive if anything).

Next to that a feature that allows mods to make news articles might be nice as well to announce stuff such as say the next iAM event, perhaps brief interviews with teams who won an event and stuff like that.

Another idea could be some new link along the Home, Ladders, IRC Chat, Frag Videos and Live Stream ones that could give a nice overview of the current standings and teams in the currently active league (or the 2v2 tourney if it's still underway..). You could also include the dates, and give moderators or at least some kind of acces to the league admins.

Actually if you want to figure out more features you could probably check out GameBattles.com or ConsoleGaming.eu, as those are some active console gaming ladder sites (not for ut3, obviously).

Also if you're gonna be starting on the map thing again I'll help if you want me to, last time I kind of forgot to reply to what you'd asked me to.

I pretty much realise this is a lot, but you asked for suggestions :P

I think that a centralized, easy to use, custom content download section would be nice.

Yep another solid point the COD community is way more active.

If I'd make a site with about 20 CoD players, would you get excited for it if I told you it may have 16(!!) team tournaments if we're really lucky, while established sites have tried and tested systems, a huge clanbase, 64 team tournaments etc.. There's just no reason for players to come here, only way they might come is if friends told them to sign up.

Also iAMgaming is supposed to be a multi-gaming site, it'd be easier to just make the subforums like the UT3 section is right now rather than make an entire new site and pay for hosting there.

If UT3 had just 5% of the COD community aware that it was a good game then you might see more than 16 players online at peak times.  So to conclude (in my conversation with WOPR) I think your time would be well spent putting your efforts into a project with more interest and something you enjoy playing. I'm not saying it has to be COD but the MAG game might be an idea. You have already shown you can network well with fragged nation... you might be able to make yourself some proper money if you put your efforts into a project that has potential to expand rather than just decrease slowly until only Drokun is online playing with himself.
