Headphones are a must to be a top dueler, with the exception of BlackStar lol.

D: i have a headset but i don't use 'em to communicate during duel...if i chit-chat i'll get distracted....headphones??? is that wat PaW & GOD_BIOFREAK use?? wat xactly do they do?? i mean can't you hear ur opponent thru ur TV?? & ummm where do u get them?? & imo using headphones isn't cheating O.O just like kb/m

It's mostly the stereo sound that helps, you can easily tell if your opponent is on your left or right and sometimes you can deduce right where they are. It's also much easier to hear people picking up health vials, armor, weapons. You can even hear their footsteps if you're close enough. The sound coming through a TV is just all sort of mumbled, you can't tell left/right, and you can't really hear your opponent picking up stuff etc.

You can use any headphones as long as you have a way to hook them up to get the sound from your ps3. Some are made specifically for gaming/ps3 or whatever. I just use my regular ipod headphones hooked up through my surround sound receiver.

Umm.. The difference is just using it to talk and being able to have quality (possibly surround) sound + mic.

i Use my Creative Fatal1ty pc Headphones for UT3 PS3. i Bought a 3.5mm jack to USB converter from ebay for around £3 so i could use my Mic aswell :) but i plug the Green jack into the tv so i have sound ingame. It's a good Setup and i can hear people talking and hear ingame sounds like people trying to run me over in the raptor in suspense :P or sneak up behind me but i hear them pick up ammo and health :)
