Okay maybe I have bad taste but my impression on borderlands. After watching the official trailer the game looked so cartoonish. It reminded me of a cartton I'd watch when I was growing up as a kid, maybe some of you aint growed up yet, IDK??? The game doesn't scream "better then UT3" in anyway.to me, I get some sense of feeling when watching the trailer that Nintendo Wii was dieing for this release, its something that should have ended up on that console and not on PS3. Then there's Uncharted 2, should I go on anymore about another pathetic game??? Despite UT3s minor annoyances and it being old and dead, neither one of these games will take me from it. PC UT3 is just another way to keep on fraggin with UT3. |

i have borderlands and i like this game. but the RPG part of this game is really small. the great thing u can find manymanymany weapons.
but this game its only 4 play 1 or 2 times over.. after u play UT still/again |

For me, my next choice in PS3 game is between this, Brutal Legend, and Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time. I think I might get the last choice first though, as Tools of Destruction was so freakin' awesome. Before I got back into UT3, I beat it four freakin' times, or twice, if you consider Challenge mode as part of beating the whole game. The only thing I didn't do was get all the skill points. I never really could figure all of them out. As for Uncharted 2, it looks cool and all, but this game appeals more to me. The first Uncharted really didn't appeal to me all too much. If I want an adventures-style game, I'll just play Ratchet & Clank. It's got lots of upgradable guns, lots of enemies, and some comedy to boot. |

oh and helscream.. this is from someone who played all the original fallouts and beat fallout 3 a few times. borderlands is nothing close to a rip-off of it. fallout 3 is one of my favorite games of all time, but they simply are diffrent games. bethesda makes its own style of games.
@killingugood, same im gonna get to probably level 20-30 before i go online
@silverj, my copy of r&c should arrive any day now, ive played every one of them minus ratchet deadlocked. they are great games.
borderlands is kinda similiar to r&c in the way you constantly are collecting money and the way weapon proficiency works.. like in ratchet and clank the more you use a wep it raises the weps level, in borderlands the more you use a wep you raise the weps proficiency
but one is a platforming 3rd person game (r&c), and the other is a fps/rpg hybrid.. so dont think you are getting the same experience from either or

That's my main concern with this game: Are the RPG elements truly fleshed out? Or are they simply tacked on? Coming off Fallout 3 since launch day, I must remain skeptical. |

It's not an RPG, it's an FPS with very shallow RPG elements. There are not a ton of stats to keep track of besides those on the weapons. It's best to think of it as an FPS with a taste of RPG aspects (like leveling, persistence, etc.). Most reviewers, and I'm pretty sure Gearbox themselves, refer to it as an RPS (role playing shooter).
