Borderlands

Borderlands is single player, or 4 player co-op, running through missions.  You can duel eachother tho.  To initiate a duel with a co-op player:  one player b1tch-slaps another team mate.  That player then returns the b1tch-slap.  Then a giant dome comes down from the sky and covers the two players, and they duke it out in whichever area they were just in.  The bad part is, you continue with the campaign afterwords with your weakened health, and loss of ammo.  Don't know if you get XP for the victory, or anything.

Every single one of those movies (with the exception of sin city) is a cla**ic film along with countless other B&W movies. If you are such a shallow person that you can't appreciate a film for it's substance and are unable to look past the B&W presentation then I honestly feel sorry for you. You and people like you are the reason good movies hardly ever get made anymore. You have no concept of subtlety and are only entertained by glitzy Hollywood garbage like Transformers 2; the "if it doesn't have an explosion it's not good" mentality.

I'll watch what I want - just because someone says a film is a cla**ic, doesn't make it so and doesn't mean I have to run out and see it. I don't have to enjoy a film simply because it's regarded as a cla**ic. I am the reason directors choose not to make films? Somehow I think that's their choice not to make them. If people don't watch them, hell, not my problem. The end of your post is completely wrong also - Transformers 2 sucked, imo. I never said anything about gentle, subtle films not being any good. Just that I didn't want to see those 'cla**ics' Fluffy posted. Maybe it was a stupid analogy to use in the first place but I still don't see why I have to appreciate those films just because you say they're cla**ics.

I played this tonight for about 2 hours, im kinda getting into it, but being a avid Fallout 3 fan, it just feels a little to unoriginal! Concepts, ideas, names, sounds, alot of them seem like hey, (Bethesda), can we take some of your stuff and put it into our game? My friend rented it, but not so sure id buy it! Also, graphics do make a major impact in how games are perceived! I laugh when people say SNES was the best console, for 1, the graphics cant compare, immersion isnt even close, computer A.I. isnt even a question, an last sound output is amazing! Take example the new Prince of Persia, its a different art style, far from photorealistic, but that sh1t looked cool!

I heard the online play isn't up to scratch in the PS3 version and that they need to release a huge patch to fix it up.  I'm very tempted to get this but I won't until they release a patch if it's really badly needed... How are you guys finding the online play as it is?

YES!  Finally a forum in which I can address this oft spouted rhetorical question (too lazy to sign up on others merely to answer this).  X, graphics play a huge part in modern gaming.  It's part of the package - along with sound, gameplay, controls, and so on.  So when these graphics were changed, a lot of people were dismayed because it completely changed the feel of the game.  The game no longer made sense as a gritty, realistic (I use the word loosely) RPS.  This would mean having incongruities that would be disruptive to immersion.  Necessarily, gameplay and atmosphere were adjusted.  Even though this was the right move if they weren't going to restore the old graphical style, it was still a bit upsetting as the original concept had many people hooked for a year plus.  In the end the game turned out great, it's just not what it was originally.  I am glad they changed it fully rather than partially when they decided to switch gears.  Here are links for the original preview trailer, modern, and Rage.  Again, this is a surprisingly awesome game and I take my hat off to Gearbox for pulling off a game centered around comedy, coop, and fun.

I used to love putting my bread in super nintendos... when it came out it was toast and looked like it had amazing graphicd.

Borderlands is a very fun game.  I have been waiting for its release since 2007, when the gun count was around 500,000.  It has since ballooned to an estimated 17.5+ million.  The art style put a lot of people off, myself included, especially after seeing that the original graphics had a more realistic slant.  I got over the change, but then was put off by the change in gameplay and atmosphere - from gritty and serious to comedic.  I still purchased the game on day one and am glad I did so.  My original expectations can be realized with the release next year of id's Rage. As an RPS, with comedic elements, an interesting art style, and an emphasis on having a good time, Borderlands excels.  

uh.. why exactly is this game not worth 60?

It is meant to look like a graphic novel.  The graphics are very cartoony/comic bookish
set in a post apocalyptic planet
