It's about time. For the paltry duration that I've had a PS3 I've grown quite weary of the messaging and communication capabilities (or should I say 'limitations') that are offered via PSN. Others had told me of mumblings about this coming, but it seems like it's now official.

You don't have to be in the same game to talk to one another. I'm a**uming this is Sony's equivalent to MS' part system, which allows you to have up to 8 people conversing while playing any game (each can play their own). No 'push-to-talk,' no waiting while loading, no team chat only, no need to be playing the same game, etc. It greatly facilitates communication.

If it's like the Live party system (and to be honest - who doesn't think that is exactly what Sony is trying to level) then yes UT3 for Bain, Hannah Montana for friend whilst still talking it up. Rican, by game I don't mean mode. They don't even have to be playing UT3. People in game wouldn't be able to hear you, but who needs that? Your whole team could/would be in the party. Or, like we did on 360, you could have a 4v4 with both teams in the party talking ****/joking/etc.

i remember i actually glitched something when i was hosting a practice. shewulph and i were in TDM, and Foxy left to go duel someone. but the funny thing was we both could hear her and the other dueler once their match started. it was pretty cool actually. can't wait for this.

yeah i should be simular to xbl's party system where a group of people playing diff games or modes can all be in a chat like the PUG but it will be voice chat
