One thing I like about those is that since you set them up ahead of time or try to, the chances of everyone having the customs suggested is a lot better than the pubs.  Honestly, playing customs on pubs (ignoring Duel) is usually next to impossible, since the most players either don't even have mods or at least not the ones you have.  At the moment, I only have a map or two and I'll only get more if I can get in another one of those pugs, since I rarely play custom maps that are not Castle-12 offline.

Castle-12's my mod testing ground map btw.  It's also my favorite map to mess around with the bots on.  There's few things (offline-wise) more fun than playing with Titans And Relics (usually Agility, Vengeance, Redemption, and another one) on Castle-12. (at least for me)
