I know about grand puba, its actually one dude from Brand Nubian. They are some Farrakhan type muslims though so I never got into them and their racial bull**** but I do love a few of their tracks. Pete Rock and CL Smooth......oh man that is the epitome of soulful hip hop right there. Jazzy Jeff (who has had an amazing career outside of fresh prince btw) is another like Pete Rock. So is J Dilla aka Jay Dee from Detroit (RIP) formerly the main producer for Slum Village. |
