I myself have always saw the Icelandic/Norwegian (Norse Language) to be very interesting. Norse language is the infacy of English (old english). The tale of Beowulf is the oldest KNOWN written story of literature in the English language.

My signature is actually in old norse.

Dei for ifra nord
Mot ei anna tid
Bak låg brende ord
Framfor dei ei ny strid
Dei såg såg stormar i det fjerne
Men haldt fram og beint
Inn mot jordas kjerne
Frå tidleg mot seint

Translation

They came from north
towards another time (/era/reign).
Behind lay a burning world
ahead lay yet another toil (/feud/battle)
They saw storms in the distance
but persisted boldly and brave
into the earths core
from early to late (meaning: restlessly).

The reason why the old Norse language interest me is mainly due to the way the words and letters are pronounced. The language sounds very bold, and blunt. The native tongue of the vikings. Also, i tend to find this language easier for myself then others (perhaps norwegian is part of my ethnicity). The pronunciation of some Norse words are very strange, yet when you pronounce some you can cleary see the similarities to old english and modern english. If i was to ever take the time out of my day to learn another language. It would have to be old norse.
