ok lets finally talk some football on this thread. lets start with my break down on DET.

ok lets start by saying C. Johnson is to DET as A. Peterson is to MIN. take them away from their team and that team would be in some serous trouble. i saw 2 stats last night before the game that mad me kinda laugh. M. Stafford 9 TD passes this year, then C. Johnson 8 TD catches this year. that means he has only thrown 1 TD to someone else, and i can almost promise you over half off Johnsons TD catchs were Stafford just throwing it up and Johnson out jumping people in the endzone. for me thats not the mark of a good offense. its just an amazing athlete that Johnson is.

Stafford is a good QB for as young as he is and has a lot of room to grow but just throwing the ball up for Johnson is not skill on his part and may hurt him in the long run if thats all he continues to do cause it will stunt his progression in reading coverages and corner drops and tendencies. so he really needs to be careful and start finding a way to spread the ball around. it will make him better and make their team better in the long run.

lets talk about their line and run game... well there really isnt much to say cause there is none. Stafford is one of the most hit QBs in the league next to Cutler and Bradford. While J. Best is a good running back cause i watched him in college he is not a straight forward back. hes great in open space cause hes quick and shifty but when they need 2 yards for a first he wont be able to just barrel straight ahead and move people to get, and add on a line that isnt that good and u got a pretty bad combo for short yardage game.

now for the defense. theri d-line is very talented but over aggressive. they are great pass rushers but because they come straight up the field a running back can easily slip right by them and be on to the second lvl. M. Forte did it a number of times last night to them. as for the rest of the defense they are average at best. theres a reason the team had to have comeback wins... cause the defense couldnt hold the opposing team offense. if it wasnt for the d-line getting pressure on the QB when they drop back the linebackers and secondary would be getting gashed every game.

lastly lets talk about their record and how they got their wins. ill start with last night. i watched the first half and the Bears basically held them in check in every aspect, except for one play thats was a 70 yard pass to Johnson. with 56 of the yards was the ball in the air. then i saw today that Best had a 88 yard run untouched. for me plays like that are a break down in defense most of the time. so its not really the offense doin a great job its the defense beating themselves. so lets take those 2 plays away and ur final score of the game is prob closer and prob in favor of the bears. not saying they would have won but more then likely cause when ur behind ur gameplan changes and thats what happend. now for their win over MIN and DAL. when a team is up by 20 or more points in the 3rd quarter it is more then likely a let down in the team winning by that much if they end up losing the game. i didnt watch the MIN game but im guessing that happened there, but i did get to watch the DAL game and i know thats what happened. Romo through 3 ints and 2 were returned for TDs. now i def understand it takes the defensive player to put himself in the right position to make a play but if a QB throws it right to him or if the ball is tipped then it is not defensive skill. its a QB let down or when tipped luck. lets take those 3 wins away and now u have a team thats is 2-3. doesnt sound that great. i have yet to see them have consistent long field drive over the course of a full game and any team that can not do that is not a good team. lets take those 3 wins away and now u have a team thats is 2-3. doesnt sound that great.

sorry that was a bit long but thats just my opinion and could be completely wrong but thats just how i see it. and im sure theres more i could prob say but after all that its hard to remember everything ha.

well thats kinda what im saying. to me Detroit isnt really hot. like i said are they good yea but as good as people are saying as a team no. i know ur prob like what yea they are they are 5-0, but when i tell you my points u might see it a little dif but then again its just my opinion and what i see. i also havent been able to watch all 5 games, but from what i seen and know thats how i see it.

Well there is still a lot of football left anything can happen, but what I'm going to be watching is week 12, when Detroit plays GreenBay, if both are still hot.. that will be an awesome game!!

i agree with ya seph this week was f'ed up. i dont agree with ya on the vikings tho they should have won like they did. then again if you think about it football has def changed big time in the last couple years. i dont feel like goin into detail now but i will when i have time. theres very few team that still play the old style of football and do it well, but when they do they are extremely hard to beat.

and i will be the first to say on here and im sure people wont agree, but BUF and DET while they are def good teams they are not as good as people are making them out to be. can they be that good sure but they are not right now. again i will go into detail with that so yous dont think im just saying it, i have seasons y i think that.

Back in the early 90's my dad would buy the NFL bloopers videos... no lie 80% of it was the vikings f***ing up a play or a vikings player just learning how to walk

Last time I checked, they lost four Super Bowls, just like the Bills.  However, unlike the Bills (as Bain said), they didn't lose them all in a row.  I honestly don't know what's worse.  Never being able to make Super Bowl or being denied four times in a row.  Personally, I feel if you can't win one after four straight trips, you might as well had never made it in the first place.  There's a difference between losing four over the years and four in a row. (most likely fairly different teams)

Hell Yeah!!!! We didn't lose four in a row. We spread our misfortune out, lol. We should have won the first one against KC. The next three were against some tough Miami, Pittsburgh and Oakland teams. Oh well, there's always next year.

I think we also traded some of our players/ lost a few good ones during the lockout.  Either way, I still don't remember a time when we depended on anymore more than Peyton Manning.  We had excellent receivers and pretty good running backs over the years, but we'd still probably would of fallen apart without Manning, even on the very year we did win the Super Bowl.
