Zake spoke to someone on the PSN hotline..
PSN will be back up when 90% of Europe has done the update, spread the word and it will be online fairly soon. I wouldn't mind a few hours tonight! Not sure how this will work though as 90% of the EU PSN might not even be active. Still, spread the word!

It probably isn't true to be honest. Likely just to be a corporate line to take... the logistics of getting 90% of PSN users in the EU done is not realistic as many never even play online anyway.

well im not eu but psn is back up here i have actually recovered one of my psn's but since i havent recovered the main acct it wont let me sign into any of them and it says they have 24 hours to send you a link to reset your password so patience is a plus here
good thing i've had a month of waiting to teach me |

why do you need an email? i just attempted to log in, and was prompted to create a new password.. so i did.
havent played online in a while.. but needed to secure my ultra dope name.

well im not sure what it is exactly.. i think its any accounts that were made on your current ps3 require email confirmation to reset your password..... any accounts made on previous ps3's just let you sing on straight away aftre youve reset your password..

if i understand you correctly.. its easier to re-register your name on a ps3 that you didnt make it on?
is sony trying to make it easier for people to steal nicks then it is for people to repassword?
you would think if it can detect the ps3 as the one used to make the account.. it would be even easier for you..
i made my acct back in 2007 on a 160gig (launch day woot ! :) ), and reregistered on a slim.. so i guess that was why it was easy.. but still this appears to be assbackwards by sony.

i know i did think it was odd.. at first when i read it... they said it was the other way round i think..... so i was worried i was gonna lose all my main accounts... i was surprised when i was able to sign back on.... but then i tried other recent accounts which i made on my currrent ps3.. and it send me an email for confirmation... i too thought it was strange as i thought it was the other way round...... but im very relieved aswell! lol.. and yeah it is ass backwards.. if it did turn out to be the other way round then it would of also been a little odd as then sony wouldnt pof taken into consideration all the people that had YLOD in the past and had to register their account again... whiich i alot.. but ah well.. im just glad i have my accounts :D

I can only sign in on my main account. My wife and my alt account will not work and need to wait for some stupid e-mail from Sony. I feel like sony is trying to weed out alternate user account.

they cant do much about an alternate user account.. since u can just make a new one... and obvisouly sony know that.... so i doubt they are trying to stop alt users.. why else would there be spave for 16 accounts lol xD
