honestly anything over $30 will do just fine for ut3.
now if you are trying be like an MLG pro or something... get some astros, or find some bose headphones that work for the ps3.i hear turtle beaches are decent too. |

dont go for wireless...wired is best for sound quality, price, reliability but its untidy. I think all headsets will work on PS3 you just need a USB soundboard. Many headsets come with either USB or USB soundboard + mini jack connections for mic and headphones.
1 Steel series 2 Turtle Beach Earphones P1 (I think is for especially PS3) 3 Sennheisser (PC gaming) just a few for u to go look at |

You can get gameplay sound from the PS3 from either digital optical or RCA/composite. (If your TV has a headphone jack, you can ignore the rest of this and head over to head-fi.org ![]() Problems: If you want to use digital optical, you're going to need something that will accept that signal and covert to analog (stereo receiver or some stand-alone digital-to-analog converter [DAC]). If you want to use RCA/composite, you'll have no volume control unless you get a pair of headphones with in-line volume control. Many of the headphones made for use on the PS3, like the Turtle Beach headphones, use RCA/composite and provide in-line volume control. This is the cheaper option, so most people take it. A more versatile option would be to get a cheap DAC, like the Astro Mixamp (ignore their headphones), a toslink cable, and then a pair of whatever headphones you want. I'd stay away from most headphones labeled for 'gamers', as it's usually overpriced and you're paying more for brand/image than quality. I use a pair of Audio Technica ATH-A700, personally.

i got the old turtle beach Ear Force X1 headset it works for 360, ps3 and pc so its very versatile. But like Drokun says its easy to break - cheap and soud quality isnt great. Lots of base overwhelms your ears. Also got Steel Series (black v3 I think?). Anyway its much better, more comfortable and sound quality is crystal clear. Price is about the same - I actually paid more for X1s but im UK. Yes stay clear of especially designed gaming headsets - overpriced and hyped. Razer make good gaming gear but theyre always more money than logitech. good luck

Thank you all for help.
My option for now is http://www.plantronics.com/north_america/en_US/products/computer/pc-gaming-headsets/gamecom-777. It is working fine. For anybody else who will have my dilemma this is what you need. The headphones if are wired must have USB connection. 1. You must plug USB jack into PS3. 2. Plug the microphone jack into USB card. 2. The headphone jack must be plug into the headphone TV out. (If you don't have this on TV use an adapter 2rca-male-3.5mm-stereo-female-y-cable)
