 Yo guys, as you may know, considering you probably never see me online, im a offline player primarily, which means about 5 days out of a week im offline playing.  It never seems to fail though when I do get online to play I start having trouble with lag, well, honestly I wouldnt even call it that,

My Ping is usually around 50-140 on most EC servers which isnt bad at all, you would think.

My problem here is, that im so used to playing offline that even if im not lagging due to my ping, I get, stuck on walls, delayed shots (I.e shooting a rocket as your running around a conrner and its delayed so you end up shooting the damn wall) I mean, I have dodge knowledge of all the maps, and I rarely get stuck on maps, (especially diesel and deck) but  today, I played

and I believe I was playing minnow?(sp?) well I was watching a few games and could tell that this was in fact a good player and that it should be a good match, well it wasnt >.<,  I was definately having some adjustment issues I was getting stuck on ****, missing combos, missing pickups, whole nine yards, and this is really frustrating because I know im good, but when I get online I look like a total noob man... no joke its embarrassing >.<

So I was wondering if the wonderful community happened to have any players that have this issue and if they have any tips to help out transitioning from offline to online without having to sit there for 10 matches to adjust >.>

LOL... 10 minutes to adjust.. mate online playing is on a whole different level to offline and could take onths to get from below average to a good player... im going in chat now so dont have any time to type.. but ill give u a few tips sometime...

lol not 10 minutes TS 10 matches ... I WISH it only took 10 minutes to adjust lmao that would be awesome

Clean out your ps3 its probably dirty and needs to be blown out with a compressor.  they run like **** with all the dust in them.  Also another tip... get a hair cut and lay off the weed, its probably why you get stuck is casue you cant see where your going and the delay is from the weed.  jk just givin crap

-- dude listen to death - he says he jokes but seriously -- when im sober im amazing -- this is hard for me coz i have a sea of green!!points for people who know what that means!! and yeh i get baked and kill myself- i probably have the most  enviroments deaths - i.e. suicides u will ever see--

and yeh online can be insane !!
 and u die like 9 times in a rown then get godlike
online is lame with lag -- i rarely join servers that show more than 100 ping - but even when i join eu - my ping is the worst out of everyone-
sometimes u just gotta be a sucker and get owned
sometimes u can use lag to your advantage!! 
 
 oh and listen to matt aswell it should take u a long time to adjust fella -- the best matches are against people who woop me !!!

im not sure but i think i recal u typing that u have a mic? if so thats already the first step :).. when your playing.. just ask people soe questions in game.. hopefully youll be spekaing to the nicer people of the community who will help you.... now i dont know your skill level but since your starting out online... you shouldnt jump into the more hectic modes and start off with dm to raise your killing skills... take a few weeks doing that.. or maybe a bit longer.. hell i played close enough to a year in dm (dont ask why, i just dint think of trying the other modes)... but yeah.. do that so u dont get owned in the other modes...
it wont take long to know who is the good players of this game.... study them.. dont matter what modes. spectate people in duels. i dont that quite a bit when i first started out and i learned some useful things... watch peoples flag runs in vctf etc...
there is some tutorials in the tutorials section... obviously xD lol... if u want add me XxGeNesIsViixX... or KmA_thatsmatt... when im free ill be happy to show u some things.. im not a great teacher but im sure i could help u.

LOL my bad.. i misread that... and hey.. i wish it was 10 matches for me to adjust haha.. alot more than that.... theres literallt tons to learn about this game ranging from how to use each weapon right... knowing how to predict enemies movement patterns.. how to be unpredictable yourself. know the maps inside and out.. know the items reapwn times.. flag run routes... orb run routes... lots of strategies fr each mode... i can go on and on lol.. takes a long time to get good at this game.. especially across all modes... just ask tx.. hes still a noob ;P

Is your Internet wired? Or wireless? Because I usually get better pings on wireless ones. And there is a difference beteween bots and online people it's called bots ALWAYS know where you're at F Akasha stupid hacking bot I swear. Haha

Yes make sure your playing wired.  You should be getting that much lag or lost frames from that, also make sure the person hosting does not have a rubbish connection.

If the host has a rubbish connection everyone playing will have rubbish time playing.

Im sorry for the rubbish, I watched too much of Halloween (aka space brit) playing system shock 2..
