If that's the case, I'd be in the bahamas right pouring bottles of Cristal into the ocean for sh!ts and giggles. Or banging some hot french chick in front of the Louis Vuitton store in Champs Elysee. You know why? Because if my family had that kind of money, I wouldn't give a flying fvck about anything.

Fix'd Sorry, I just had to do that. Being a Colts fan, I've never really liked New England all too much and seeing that last interception get accepted made me jump for joy a bit. Eat it Brady! Now, I hope the Dolphins/ Jets pa** them and boot them out of the playoff picture. However, I will say that both of those upsets were epic. I just wish this weekend could of been completed with a Nebraska over Texas upset, leading to a TCU upset of Alabama. (I know.. wishful thinking..) Seriously though, the least they could do is give TCU a high ranking large school opponent, instead of the same Boise State team they beat last year. TCU deserves much more that ****, even if Boise State does win. How about if they do this good next year, they move them up to a better division, like they I was hoping they'd do with Butler in College Basketball. |

Honestly, I think I got another idea, but it would go against tradition so bad it would probably fail. I say.. break up conferences and reorganize them. Mix it up and put smaller schools in league with larger ones. That a way, when TCU goes 11-0 or whatever their record is, strength of schedule won't hurt them as bad as it does now. However, even though it might fix the BCS issues, I'd have to be against this. |

not the best idea but if u hv smaller good schools face the bigger schools that might work. cause if u hv a bad small school face and big school not fair and that will happen every yr. i think all of the big schools should be in a conference and the bottom teams get kick out and smaller good schools go in. so it keeps team wanting to do better and will hv great games to watch every week.

They're all D1-A schools though. If larger schools are going to be given consideration based on enrollement, maybe they should break down Division 1 football by enrollment. I know in my state (NY), high schools are cla**ed not by skill, but by enrollment. If you fall below a certain enrollment, you got dropped to another division.
Take this for what it is worth. My college football knowledge couldn't fill a thimble.

i get what ur say that how high school is in NJ too. but it would be hard for college to do that cause if u hv ivy league that has alot of ppl they won't be as good as some of the other teams cause they look at sat scores rather than football stats so it would be hard to do that

having 120 Div 1A schools makes it impossible to have divisions like in the NFL or NBA or something like that. Div 1A could follow a similar path as Div 1AA does with their playoffs but that won't happen because of all the bowls. In my mind the best solution is to use the existing 11 Division 1A conferences champions (to be fair) and use the polls to determine 5 at large berths in a 16 team playoff. Cut the season to 11 regular season games because most teams play "worthless" games anyways. That is the only fair and logical way in my mind. So you don't think Troy from the Sunbelt or Central Michigan from the MAC deserve a shot? Let me remind you of George Mason making a run to the Final Four a few years ago.

Mega props goes to the Washington Deadskins this weekend, even though you didn't win, you gave the Saints a reality check! It was an awesome game to watch! Had my hopes up though :(

As the season wears on, more film of teams becomes available. Good coaches are able to scheme against it and you will see more teams that are top-tier lose. This is why teams like Miami beat the Pats and Arizona beat a seemingly unstoppable Vikings team.
In my opinion, the Miami win wasn't even that much of an upset. Miami won the division last year and they always play the Pats tough.
No matter what happens, both college and NFL football has been great this year. I credit this thread with exposing me to college teams other than my two faves, Cuse and Notre Dame.

Police: Marine dies in argument over UT gamea**ociated PressDec. 7, 2009, 9:33PMHAVELOCK, N.C. — Police in North Carolina are saying a Marine was accidentally shot to death when he got into an argument with a friend over the Texas-Nebraska football game. Police say 21-year-old Johnathan Clinton Rodriguez was shot early Sunday after banter escalated with a fellow Marine at a home in Havelock, a town near the coast. Authorities say Rodriguez got into a scuffle with 23-year-old Lionel Loya, who had a gun that went off during the struggle. Loya has been charged with involuntary manslaughter. It's unclear whether he has an attorney. He was transferred to military authorities who didn't immediately return a telephone message Monday night. Texas beat Nebraska on a last-second field goal to win the Big 12 championship Saturday. |

In some places it's life or death. No different than how soccer fans across the world act. Fortunately it appears we have a little more sense since killing over sports doesn't seem rampant here

more texas news!!! mack brown today just received a new contract paying him $5 million per year now until 2020 making him the highest payed coach in football. that is 1.5 million more than nick sabin. also UT was the highest sports revenue in the history of college sports with over $85 million last year. this year is supposed to be almost 50% more than that. that is quadruple it was just before mack brown came here to austin...

Not the highest paid coach. Pete Carrol is. He makes close to 8 million a year. They report his coaching earnings at 3+ million, but he makes an undisclosed additional amount in the ballpark of 5 million. There was an ESPN and SI article on how they report his income before the season started. the reason they don't report more as his pay as a coach is because of tax reasons.

well Envy, when Bama beats Texas, all the incentives in Saban's contract will push his salary very close to that
...Alabama Football alone profited $38 million dollars this past year, the most ever....surprising amount considering how bad the economy was in the past year. Edit: The reason Carroll's pay is not "known" is because USC is a private university....much like how nobody really knew how much Weis was making. |
