xD a new router and modem won't do you any good if your provider has decided to add you to the 256kb/s list. Thats like buying a new kitchen, but you dont have a boiler for hot water.
Advice, run a speed test. Example: If the test turns out drastically lower then 1 mb/s second, but you still payed for 1 mb/s = call your ISP, and let them know their ****. If the test turns out to send the same amount of data that you have paid for, you should check with your ISP to have a cable engineer check the wiring in your house. First on the outside > inside, as on the inside. Switches are killers for data transmission, etc. |

its all good... i made my cable company give me a new modem, and it shuts down alot now? lol it wasn't even doing that before :) $170 a month, new modem, new netgear, and a new HD cable box, and my internet is still garbage? i give up lol |
