Its done and cooked. The lighting trolls on me though.. The floor is completly black and doesn't allow me to add any lighting. I did not change anything. Just added an extra platform between the bridges with some jumpshoes on it. Funny that you mentioned Hydrosis-BE. I just laid this question upon some mappers from Epic Forums.

Fvck I missed this thread.
I redid Reflection with my own ideas, but its not a very popular map. It should be a good idea to just change it to a Necris layout and replace the keg with a belt. There is not so much to change about Reflection since the layout is pretty good. The lightning on the current Deflection is too bright and the spotlights are not placed very well. That was awhile ago tho. Ill redo Deflection in my holiday and make it Necris themed. Ill take with me all your ideas in here. It will be part of the Continuous map pack, which will include: CTF-Seraph CTF-Origin CTF-Reflection-NE Standby :) |

Some of his ideas are great.. but to a flag runner being creative is what makes flag running fun.. which im sure you would agree with Veda.. good walljumps over gaps adds so much to a map.. elevator jumps like the one's already on reflection become trademarks of a good map.. being trapped in that center section of the mid bridge makes it a no go area for flag runners.. but if there was some cool options instead of a closed in area then it could be a favorite part of the map for flag runners.. good defenders camp by the bushes because they can see the whole area.. making going through the closed section of mid bridge an easy ambush point.. defenders just spam rockets or flak in there.. I always thought that spot needed tweek'd.. make the defenders use a little skill to kill the carrier.. after all there's always plenty of them lol

i think that sounds real good.. i like all of the ideas he gave.. especially the balcony at the rocket and flak sides and turning those vents into sliding doors for another route.. along with all the stuf mentioned by us xD... and i actually really hope kargo does get remade for ctf cos that was a brill idea by syzygy

Got great feedback on the new map

Wow, I didn't think there would be so much interest in a remake of Reflection :P
There are some really nice ideas though. Here are some of the best, imo: -Opening up the area beneath the keg of health, increasing gameflow and offering an alternate route. *This will also require me to increase the size of that small passage , but that wont be a problem. -Replacing Helmet by Thighpads -Adding Shield pickup beneath the keg of health -Open up the keg of health area, increasing gameflow. ------------------------------ And here are some of my own ideas: -Close down the side entrances at top level, forcing the players to go through the center. -Remove the big plant at the top level, increasing gameflow [i personally hate that plant, it always gets in the way] and allowing the player to jump down 1 level through a hole on that spot. -I was also thinking of adding an alternate 1-way route into the bases. The best way to explain: The red base has got these air vents on the floor, in the middle of the base. By making those work as sliding doors/gates which only open from beneath, an elevator can be used to get the player into the base. The player then will also be able to use the momentum of the elevator to its advantage to get to the higher middle section of the base, from where he can go to the flag. Or the player can try to get to the flag in one jump. This air vent passage will be accessable from the new area beneath the keg of health. Adding several peeping holes [matching the looks of the air vents] will allow people to see where the flag carrier is. -Another thing i want to fix is the flag camping in the spawn areas. My idea is to raise those areas, or lower them, and narrowing them, so the flag carrier cant hide there. What do the guys think about this? -Another idea I had was this: adding some sort of balcony over the flak/rocket launcher to provide another route. This balcony will be accessable via the top level base side entrances. -Perhaps it would be a good idea to close down the main lower entrance to the base forcing the players around the sides or top level. Not sure about this, I'd like to know what the guys think about this. ------------------------------ Some things I won't do: -Change the theme to necris: this simply is way too much work. -Open up the top level bridge where the Helmet is positioned, as this little bridge forces the player to remain on that path, which is shorter, but more dangerous. ------------------------------ About the name: I think CTF-Reflection2 is the best imo. However I also like CTF-Reflective. I'd like to know the opinion of the forum guys about this. ------------------------------ I also gotta say i like the idea of turning Kargo into a CTF map, by removing the tank area and opening up some areas. Perhaps I will some day have a look at this. Btw: perhaps its a good idea you start up a topic like this, here at the forums, for even more |

These ideas are Genius! Especially the one about removing the bars in the lower section. Health vials and chest armor sound good also. Im pretty sure he can come up with a pretty good map from these ideas. Ill run them by the man and see what he can come up with. Thanks fellas |

yeah it does ruin kargo to some extent in vctf yeah.. but with some fine tuning and editing it would make a great ctf map!. maybe someone should present this idea to some map creators.. cos i would love it if that was made.. would be a good change rom relfection, omicrawn, reflction, omicrawn, strident, reflection.. u know? lol

The tank ruins Cargo somewhat.. As a ctf map there would be a lot of strategic possibility's.. It would be interesting to see how different people would play that map as a ctf map? Im sure some people would play mid.. With jumpboots on each side it would be cool to run the flag.. I bet it would instantly be a favorite ctf my.. Even vctf players would play it imo. |

theres alot of good ideas.. very interesting... i like yingyangings idea of making the lower ground deeper and add another route... and making the map bigger would be cool... also i like the idea of adding jumpboots under the helmet spawn... that would be a good map... and im not sure about it being necris.. map dothese ideas and mke both normal and necris versions of it.... also i love syzygy's idea of making kargo into a ctf map!!

Open the tunnel under the keg and put five health vials down there. Change the helmet to chest armor. Add one jump pad on each side under the bush so that the runner coiuld jump up instead of having to go thru the shock area. Increase the general size of the map and make it Necris.

Yep, the Helmet's kind of redundant when Flak and Rockets are preferred way more than the Sniper. I try to use it every now and then, but I generally only die more. You might as well have either the Belt or Armor, but you seem to prefer the armor + health vials. I really wish the Keg was either non-existent (with something in it's place) or in a harder to reach place. Even when someone's timing it and there's a lot fighting at mid-field, it still tends to be fairly easy to get or at least easier than the flag. Perhaps, with the jump boots, there could be a higher area, semi-hidden or on the roof of the mid-field bridge. (supports on the four corners, holding up a roof with the Keg on it, granted it's not taken out) |

-have the tunnel underneath the helmet spawn without bars so that people can cross over without going up the stairs...
-health vials and/or chest armor like everyone else is saying INSTEAD of the shield belt. no it has nothing to do with how small the map is and how fast it is to carry the flag, because spoondog is cubically smaller than reflection, yet it has both the chest and belt and vials. -To make the upper parts of the level incorporate more flag runs without hammer jumping, maybe perhaps boots underneath the helmet spawn (in the water tunnel i explained earlier that should have the bars removed). *You see more sniping on reflection now, but in pubs the game is so fast paced that people are refusing to use it, therefore the helmet seems inoperable. replace with chest perhaps like stated above by boogie??

some safer or moved spawns by the rocket launcher and flak cannon, it'd be pretty cool if the map was a bit longer, maybe with a few extra paths on the second story, take out the keg and replace it with a shield belt, also take out the helmet and put in an armored vest then you got yourself a good map.

Well i would love to see a time limit for hanging in the flag room.. you automatically die if your in your own flag room too long
![]() ![]() 4 real though.. Im thinking as a flag runner so a midfield walljump in any direction from mid bridge could be sweet as hell. Cargo is a vctf map but if you remove the tank and add water to the whole tank area, add jumpboots, and open up the sniper windows so you could jump up to that area it would be a sic ctf map imo you could also maybe add a platform in the middle of the water with something worth getting? Its worth try'n 4 sure. It would even be great for 7v7 or 8v8 games imo |

syz i completely agree if u dont change it then leave it the *** alone no point in wasting ur time unless u do change the thing and i agree belt to much for small map armor where helmet is and i like what syz said about the enclosed part that would be cool differnt what it needs change and if u did add more walls for cover take the f***ing flak out of the map if ur a little b**** who cant handle flak

nothing should be changed. if you do change it. Just make Reflection look Necris & Dark type. dont add or take anything away from it.

the top of the level doesnt need to be changed its the bottom of the level, it should be DEEPER, with two new alternate routes to flak and rockets. the trade off is that runner has more choices and defenders will be forced to choose between two different levels of mid field defense.

Maybe remove the enclosed section of the midfield bridge and add something you could walljump off? You could also drop straight down to the cage if it wasn't there.
