I think that we have the choice of the qualities we want to develop and of the defaults we want to get rid of. We are born with a certain intellectual package, with a personality and with the "free will". What we do during a life time is only our choice, but we also carry in a next life the lessons we didn't learn.   if I'd had the choice I'd like to be a psyhic, or a telekinetic .. or something like that. Some might say that I'm watching too many movies LOL, but those people really exist   @ Dagon : indeed, there is no heaven or hell, not the way others picture it for us anyway

so in reincarnation, you believe were born to a random mother? born in a random country? born without any choices at all?

i would think somethong would have to be established?

I don't know, I've tried to stop thinking too much about stuff like this, asking yourself if there's something after this life is like asking what is in a black hole. We can not know, because it's beyond our comprehension. Well personally I am highly sure there is no heaven or hell, but I really don't know what comes after this life. If it just stops or something else happens, it never bothered me too much cause I will eventually see for myself. :P
